Is someone there?

God is near

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Whether it was just by chance, if it exists, or just by the Lord's design -a subliminal message- all last week I heard about the power of prayer. Personally, the power of prayer is a subject that I love and that many people still do not know in depth. But, what do we really know about the power of prayer? That it keeps us in a close relationship with God? Yes, definitely! That it is also our channel of direct communication with Him? Also that everything we say is heard and cared for by Christ? So, about that last point ...

It is in this question that we may find ourselves with different opinions and the subject becomes evident when the question arises: Why does God not listen to my prayers? Why does He not give me what I ask for? We must not forget, first of all, that God ALWAYS listens to us, and that, although we may not notice it, He answers to everything, because we must remember that silence also tells us things. Many times, our will is not the same as God's will, and that is why sometimes we have the feeling that He does not listen to us.

In such times we should listen to our hearts and ask ourselves why Christ's plans are different from ours. Surely there is a reason, and I believe that this is where the true power of prayer lies: in that it gives us the ability to know God's will, even when it is different from ours.
