Intro
When we talk to a person we have to be very attentive to what he or she are saying. Many times it happens that we don't listen and we respond randomly to the people.
It is the same with God. Many times we perform prayers automatically. We do not see or understand the signs that our Lord puts in front of us. We do not listen to Him.
Prayer will connect our hearts to the Heavenly Father. In order to hear his guidance and counsel, we must remain in attentive listening, reading the Bible, interpreting It, praying and working on the path of God.
In the day 1 of this prayer program we would like to start this journey setting up your connection with God.
Listen in silence the leading of the Holy Spirit
“Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundan-ce of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14
Often when we have doubts about something, we do not look each other in the eyes because we do not want to face the truth. We remain foolish or obstinate when faced with the issue, in order to protect ourselves from what others may think. We prefer to be wrong rather than admit that we need help, or that there is something we cannot solve on our own. Words do not flow from our mouths because assuming we are in error sometimes has a heavy price. Remaining reluctant to criticism or advise will isolate us from those around us.
Our brethren will be there to help us and to give us alternatives to the things we do or the choices we make. God has entrusted us to live in communion, and when that happens, it is expected that there may be different thoughts or positions on the same issue. We must be compassionate and tolerant enough to accept all points of view, even those we disagree with. That will allow us to move forward with mature ideas, and will bring us closer to our neighbors. Being distant or combative with others will make us disrespectful, and as Christians, we have to be more comprehensive.
"May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ." 2 Thessalonians 3:5
I believed that my goal of guiding my life through love was a simple one. But one day when I got home after a hard day at work, I noticed I was getting impatient with my son's request to help him with a task, and wishing to be alone and calm, because I was somewhat irritated by my boss' demands, which on that day I thought were excessive.
And I realized the immensity of the meaning of this desire, which really has two parts: loving as God loves is a love without measure, that knows no limit or exhaustion, that resets itself in the face of every adversity. And the second is to persevere as Christ did.
And this is where this desire for life becomes truly interesting. Because even offering love, we sometimes feel tired, discomfort, and misunderstanding, and that's where we falter and our perseverance is put to the test on the path of Love.
This is the real difference between human love and divine love, which is not questioned, does not doubt, is not fatigued, and therefore never doubts perseverance. These are two immense purposes, which if you think about them and adopt them, can guide your life completely, without needing further instructions or guidance. God shows us the way, and it is a beacon that guides us daily.
