“I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
A few days ago I witnessed something very interesting: A colleague at the office with a retracted and introverted personality; One of those people who few have heard his voice, took an active and courageous stance when negotiating with some assailants during our lunch hour.
This coworker not only managed to get everyone present out of the situation unharmed, but he also managed to get the attackers to surrender without offering any resistance. What my coworker told the survivors is something we will never know, but nothing can erase his determined image from my mind while he addressed the assailants and talked to them as equals.
I think that, on a personal level and after knowing this person for quite some time, what caught my attention was having seen him adopt a completely different attitude than he normally had when the circumstance warranted it, and I think that is what God tells us when He says that He trusts us and our abilities, and perhaps that is what we need to remember when facing something we do not fully believe we will be able to carry out.
God urges us at all times to look at our achievements when it comes to joining forces and undertaking a new challenge.
