“who builds his upper chambers in the heavens, and founds his vault upon the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the surface of the earth—the Lord is his name.” Amos 9:6
Spreading Christ's word is a unique and very enriching experience. It constantly causes us to question notions that we think were deeply rooted in our hearts, challenging our Faith, and putting us to the test all the time. Personally, when teaching Christ's word, I prefer to teach it to the little ones, who are owners of a pure imagination that we have left behind a little at a time over the years.
I particularly remember my last class last week, where we addressed the topic of paradise. The children gave their particular vision of the promise that God gives us through eternal life. Some spoke of leafy trees laden with tasty fruits, with different colorful birds perched on each branch, living in perfect harmony. Others spoke of places embraced by the most perfect nature, with green pastures and a scent of wild flowers floating through the air.
Each one had their own vision according to the tastes they each had, to the mental representation of the things that pleased them. That got me thinking about how we adults see paradise, and personally I think that my idea is to reunite with God and all our loved ones, no matter what the place looks like, the beauty of the surroundings draws itself with the presence of those we love.
